This traditional Frisian stolp (=clocheformed) farm from 1925 was built on a spot where there once was a sea and is still kept in the original state. The farm is located at the end of a 2 km long path, the Swettepaad. No traffic, few people and especially quiet! At this organic dairy farm the cows are milked by hand. The farmer allows you to give it a try yourself. The cattle feed is 100% organic and home-grown. You can buy meat, eggs and dairy the whole year through. The farmer keeps rare cattle (Blaarkop cows).

The simple campsite offers pitches for 15 tents/caravans and is located partly hidden behind a canal with trees, partly by the water and partly between fruit trees. Toilet and water are in the farm. You can rent a caravan and a holiday home in a rebuilt stable. Helping on the farm in exchange for a free night is possible after agreement. On request you are allowed to ‘sleep in the hay’. The site looks a little messy, but offers lots of adventure for children. If they can swim, they can play safely. The farmers show you around with the theme ‘dairy trip’. The natural looking canal De Zwette runs along the accommodation and has many water birds. On the Zwette you can canoe and row. The use of the rowing boat is for free. There is a trampoline and a winding rope.

In the church of Bears is a small museum for Frisian stinsen (stone house, estate). The gate of the Stinse of Bears is imitated in a steel construction. In the surrounding villages they play the old Frisian ball game ‘kaatsen’ (looks like cricket).
