Natuurcamping ‘t Vlintenholt
‘t Vlintenholt is situated in the forestry area Odoorn. In the centre of the wood is a sheep barn where local breed of moorland sheep and cows are grazing.
The campsite has spacious pitches: 98 tents and 107 caravans can be accommodated on (one of) the fields, separated by old trees and bushes. This offers lots of privacy. The sanitary buildings has a vegetation roof and the water is heated by solar panels. The premises are carfree. You can rent bikes at the reception and some completely equipped tents (of De Waard) at the campsite. You are welcome with your horse too, with or without covered wagon; there is a meadow available.
In the woody environment you can make many bicycle and walking tours. Nearby there is a watchtower. In Borger is the national Hunebed (megalitic grave) Information Centre with the largest dolmen of Netherlands and the Boomkroonpad (tree-top trail). Barger-Compascuum has an open air moor museum (Nationaal Veenpark) and the open air museum Zeven Markten in Schoonoord will show you how people lived in Drenthe in the past.
