Trallwyn Uchaf

Location and atmosphere

Trallwyn Uchaf is beautifully set at the foot of the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire National Park, surrounded by moors and with a view of the rocky mountain tops. You have direct access to the moor, with sheep, wild ponies and an ancient stone circle. You can choose between different kinds of accommodations in several buildings that all remained their original character. The owner of the house, Anna, is an artist; she organises pottery courses and has her own crafts shop.

Facillities

You stay in the farmhouse (sleeping eight), in one of the two cottages for two persons, in the six person chalet or in the converted stables (sleeping max. seven). All the dwellings are restored by local craftsmen inspired by the architectural ideas of Rudolf Steiner. They are supplied with all modern conveniences plus have woodburning stoves. Every apartment has views of the surrounding meadows with grazing ponies and sheep. For rent is also a yurt (Mongolian Nomad tent) with cooking facilities, shower and compost loo in the adjacent barn. Children can play safely as there is plenty of space, not bothered by cars.

Surroundings and activities

This beautiful, rough nature area offers numerous opportunities for walking. From the Preseli Hills and the cliffs of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park you have beautiful panoramic views. The beaches are excellent for swimming and water sports. Beside pleasant places like Cardigan and Fishguard you will find here various old ruins of castles. The impressive stone-circle of Gorsfawr is located only a few minutes walking. In Mynachlogddu there is an open air swimming pool, cosy pubs and restaurants. Also from there you can go ponytrekking.
