


Wheems Organic Farm, Bothy and Campsite
Wheems Farm is an ecological and organic 10 hectare smallholding with horticulture and animals enterprises, situated on a hillside and surrounded by sea cliffs. The two hundred year old buildings have been professionally renovated using traditional materials.
At Wheems, you can camp or stay in the self catering attic barn apartment with beautiful atmosphere and a balcony with a sea view. For this self catering accommodation there are cooking facilities and fridge, bathroom and showers and utility area with washing machine and drying. For the camping there are showers and utility area. Organic vegetables, fruit and eggs are available for sale. At times, craft (textile) workshops are run.
On the Orkney Islands you find nature, peace, space and wind. It is an unspoilt paradise with panoramic sea views and rough cliffs where countless seabirds breed such as the puffin. The best months for a visit are May and September. In the nearby surroundings you find interesting archeological sites and ancient monuments. You can take a trip to one of the surrounding islands, such as Hoy, where you'll see spectacular rock formations in which the aggressive Great Skua broods; and to the mainland across causeways.
