The name Quinta das Cegonhas (House of the Storks) is taken from the 5 lanterns in the shape of stork's heads that give this fantastic manor house its distinctive look.

The property measures 10 ha, of which 4 ha covers the campsite. You can also rent a room or an apartment. For children there are extra beds and highchairs available; there is also a trampoline. The premises include a cosy and rustic bar and a swimming pool. The property is run by a Dutch couple with their son Vasco. The large campsite has different terraces, grown with olive –and fruit trees. Guests can buy some home-grown produce. The campsite has facilities for wheelchair users; also the terrace and swimming pool are accessible with wheelchairs. The rooms and apartments are not accessible for wheelchair users. Dogs are welcome at the campsite, but not in the apartments.

The accommodation is situated at the northern edge of the Serra da Estrela Nature Park. The lovely valley is surrounded by high-up historical villages like Folgosinho and Linhares. The immediate surroundings offer plenty of opportunities for walking, swimming and cycling. There are good itineraries and maps available for walking and cycling trips. At 5 km distance there is possibility for horse riding and at 8 km there is an in-door swimming pool.
