Kózka
This ecological farm is located on the edge of the village Łubowo, away from other houses, among hills, fields and meadows of the picturesque valley of the Mała Wełna River. This is the place where you can experience the atmosphere of the good old country. Each day starts with the crowing of a cock and each morning is spent on milking of nanny goats and grooming of animals. They breed goats, horses and chickens on 12,5 hectares, but there are also always some cats and dogs running freely in the backyard. The goat’s milk is turned into yoghurts as well as ripening and cottage cheeses. They also grow their own vegetables and fruit. Their activities in the fields of ecology, education and agritourism have been awarded in various competitions on the district, provincial and national levels.
Accommodation for guests includes three rooms that share two bathrooms and a kitchenette. The guests may participate in a practical biology lesson. The scope of lesson may include what it means that this farm is ecological or about the life of the goats. It may be about natural methods of pest control (birdhouses, herbal extracts) or wild animals from the neighbourhood like toads, otters, pheasants and other birds. Or they give a talk about their home-based, reed-based sewage treatment plant. They show the guests around the farm as they are welcome to participate in milking of the goats and tasting of the milk. Children can touch and pet little goats and little chickens by themselves.
You can follow the Piast Dynasty Trail or the Wooden Churches Trail (10 churches). There is a Museum of the First Piasts (the first kings of Poland) and the open-air etnographic museum in Dziekanowice. A few miles from the farm, you can visit the fully restored Palace Complex in Czerniejewo.
