Situated on the edge of the national park Het Drents Friese Wold, just outside Appelscha, the inn Het Volle Leven is characterized by peace and stillness, by personal attention, the processing of organic products and an exuberant vegetarian kitchen.

The small-scale guesthouse, lying in the middle of the woods, opened her doors for the nature loving and peace seeking tourist in the summer of 2004. After a lovely walk in the woods you can enjoy the cooking of the owner. The prices of a night at the inn include breakfast and a three course dinner. If you want to have a meal only, without staying the night, you need to make a reservation one day in advance. The inn has nine rooms, four rooms have their own sanitary facilities, five rooms don’t. Together with the camping hut on the premisses behind the inn, twenty people in total can lodge at this place. The inn is also a suitable accommodation for groups and for courses and meetings: a conference room and a chapel are available. The homelike restaurant has a large table for regular guests and chairs around the fireplace. Around the farm is a garden, which the guests can enjoy and where you even might meet with a deer. Dogs are welcome (after agreement). Bicycles are for rent. During holiday season the inn is allways open, in low season closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

From the inn you can walk into one of the largest wood areas of the Netherlands. There is a changing variety of woods, drift sands and pools. The park counts 130 km of walking paths and 110 km of bicycle tracks. The National Park Dwingelerveld is 15 km away. From the inn it is 7.5 km to the Aekingermeer. You find miniature park Duinenzathe and the Museum of Culinary History De Vleer in Appelscha. The open air theater of Diever and Groningen, located on 40 km from the inn, are worth a visit.
