De Zonnehorst is a bio-dynamic market-gardening and poultry farm situated in the varied and small-scale landscape of the forestry area of Staphorst. During excavation works at the farm the leftovers of a 10.000 year old elk were dug up. Parts of it are on display at the farm. The garden produces mostly for vegetable subscription members. There are also chicken.

On a distance of 300 metres from the farm there are simple camping facilities for ten tents. Also there is a luxurous cabin for four persons for rent with heating, hot water and cooking facilities. The other sanitary facilities are located in a farm building. Guests can go into the farm shop everyday for organic vegetables and groceries. There is an information room where you will find games and lots of informatiion material about organic agriculture, food and nature. De Zonnehorst manages the farm land with a special concern about nature (-development).

In the surroundings you find woods, pools and prominent ashes. Staphorst and the gardens Mien Ruys, the most famous Dutch landscape architect, are nearby. In the nature reserve the Reest one can find rare flora and fauna.
