Landgoed Baasdam
This large country estate of 60 ha is situated in the heart of Twente. It is characterized by broad-leaved and coniferous forests, ash ground surrounded by wooded banks and knotted oaks, meadows and farmlands. Around 1940 the park was laid out in the forest with a large pond, designed by landscape architect Pieter Wattez. The pond is supplied with fresh water by three wells and is suitable for swimming.
At the estate three unique holiday homes are rented out with the names Nieuwe Hoeve, Zomerhuisje and Vijverhuisje. Each detached house has its own, original interior and a quiet position on its own ground. Nieuwe Hoeve (ten to twelve persons) was built in the place of the old farm at the historic farmyard. It has a dishwasher, central heating and a wood burning stove. There are two bathrooms and six bedrooms. Zomerhuisje (four person) is located in the old park in the forest with a beautiful view on the large pond. The large living room has a wood burning stove and a built-in kitchen. There are two bedrooms and a covered terrace. Due to the position of the accommodation in the nature reserve pets are not allowed.
Around the house there is lots of space, continuing into the orchard. You will find peace, space and nature with lovely views on the estate. There are lots of walking and bicycling opportunities in the surroundings. Discover the nature of the valley of Springendal or along the river the Dinkel; there you can also canoe. The region of Twente is also interesting for its cultural history. Visit the open air museum Los Hoes (Saxon farm) in Ootmarsum, the Mill of Bels and the natural history museum Nature Docet in Denekamp.
