On a short distance of beach, dunes and the North Sea you can find the Friends-of-Nature House August Reitsma. The kitchen has recently been renovated. It is good accommodation for groups.

It is possible to rent the whole house for groups. At the house is lying a playing field and a volleyball field for children. In the playroom there are games and tables for table-tennis tables. You are supposed to offer a hand at cleaning the rooms.The cleaning of the sanitary facilities is done by a worker of the Nivon which in return is covered by your small contribution towards the costs, as a guest/member of a Friends-of-Nature house. At the house there are bikes and special carts for rent.

At the wide sandy beach of Hook of Holland you can enjoy the fresh air and wind and fly kites. At the river the Nieuwe Waterweg you can sea large seaships passing by very close. Around the house there are walking routes of from about 5 km and cycling routes of over 150 km. These trails bring you past the dunes, the Westland, Delfland and the Vlietlanden. At a short distance is the forest Staelduinsebos (accessible for cyclists and walkers) with a large colony of bats. Also the South Holland islands with the nature reserve Voornsche Duinen and fortified town Briele are in cycling distance. The Oeverloperpad, a hike of the LAW*2, runs over the dike behind the house, but the Visserspad (LAW 1-2) and the Deltapad (LAW 1-1 or 5-1) (delta path) start also in the direct surroundings of the Natuurvriendenhuis.
