This quiet, scenic campsite is 2 km from the village of Montagut, on the edge of La Garrotxa nature park. The 3 ha campsite is part of a 80 ha farm. The pitches are spread out over various meadows and terraces, or in hidden nooks behind the thicket. Fully furnished family tents are for hire. This environmentally friendly campsite has greywater treatment, separated rubbish disposal and uses solar energy (supplemented by a quiet generator in high season). In winter, cows and donkeys graze the campsite to keep the grass short and fertilize the grounds. In summer, they stay in the woods. The main building, an old Catalonian farmhouse, has an information centre, bar and restaurant, and a shop that sells organic produce and bread when available. Outside, there is a large shady terrace.

Children feel at home here. In summer, there are activities such as kite flying, clay modelling, theatre and survival trips. Advance booking is necessary, particularly in high season. La Garrotxa’s old volcanic landscape provides excellent walking. Nearby mediaeval villages such as Besalú and Santa Pau are worth visiting. Montagut has a public swimming pool, but a short walk will bring you to a natural basin in the river where swimming is great. Small children can use the wading pool on the campsite. The campsite has mountain bikes for hire and horses are for hire nearby.
